Three Sides of the Magic Lantern
2009

- glass, sound, projectors
- 10 x 15 feet

This installation is based on essential elements of a magic lantern that consists of a lantern, painted glass, and projected image that is altered through a spatial dimension. It invokes a sense of play from one site to another as viewers walk through.

This optical device is extension

of human eyes metaphorically, which functions to filter illusions

of ambiguous figures through meaning and playing of concept

of the device. In a theatrical presentation of the materials, this piece asks the viewers to engage and investigate perceptual and spatial displacement prompted

by original elements.
